How do you make a vintage houndstooth cape and black pumps feel more Brooklyn than Manhattan (or downtown versus uptown). Just add a beanie, oversized sunglasses and bright accents to keep the look youthful and trendy. It’s not often that the weather is warm enough for this cape, so I decided to layer it over a chunky cowl neck sweater dress. I can practically live in sweater dresses during winter, and this one from H&M, which is sold out, is super cozy. Being petite, I love capes because they are so flattering for layering without adding bulk. Since I’m always searching for ways to look taller (#petiteproblems), I kept the bottom half of the outfit slim to elongate my legs. What do you think?
