It’s Marie Schrader’s lucky day. Pantone announced radiant orchid as the color of year for 2014, replacing my much-beloved emerald. While I’ll continue to wear emerald (I’m hooked to my emerald eyeshadow and earrings), I’m ready to incorporate this romantic, royal purple into my wardrobe. With the exception of my yoga mat, I don’t own anything in this color, which is crazy considering it is universally flattering and orchids are my favorite flower. Moreover, it perfectly complements emerald; imagine wearing that gorgeous skirt with emerald jewels. That’s why I curated this shopping/gift guide for getting the orchid look before anyone else.
What are your thoughts on Pantone’s choice? I have to admit I wasn’t 100% behind the color at first but within 8 hours I’m already in love. Hopefully, I won’t tire of it before 2014 starts.
