You probably didn’t know this about me but I’m very petite – 5’1″. It’s one of the first things people notice about me, though I try not to let it define me or constrain my clothing choices. Like plus-sizes, petite sizes are somewhat marginalized by retailers and overlooked by designers. Though many department stores have a section for petites, the clothes are not usually aesthetically targeted to 20-somethings. One brand is determined to change that. Introducing Gambita, an online retailer catered to women 5’4″ and under. That is, women who make up over half of the female population (you can read more about that here). I had the exciting opportunity to sample three dresses from Gambita’s holiday collection. One of them is a fun star-printed mint dress (mint is my favorite color, remember?) that I juxtaposed with black tights and pumps. Another favorite is an asymmetrical half-peplum dress, perfect for a work party or night out. And the last one (my all-around favorite) is a silver sequined dress that reminded me of Daisy from Gatsby. Have a look:
