Since I started blogging last spring, I’ve utilized Twitter more than any other social media platform. It’s become my favorite social networking site (sorry, Facebook) and the one I predominately use for promoting my content, networking with bloggers, brands, and publicists, and communicating with readers. While Pinterest is responsible for most of my social media referrals, I owe Twitter, specifically, Twitter chats, for my online professional relationships. In case you don’t know, Twitter chats are realtime discussions that are organized by a hashtag. In my experience, these chats are comparable to offline networking, though they certainly shouldn’t be used in lieu of it, of course. Nonetheless, these chats are a great way to build credibility, make blogger friends, and spread your content. For this post, I compiled a list of my favorite Twitter chats. So mark your calendars and be sure to participate.
You may recognize some of the hashtags below as many bloggers use them outside of the actual chats; I’m not sure what the protocol is with regarding to using them. Some hashtags like #bbloggers trend all day long, while others like #fashionunfold and #beautychat are used strictly for the chat. Get familiar with the etiquette before using these hashtags (you don’t want to be perceived as spam!).

What: A discussion on current fashion and beauty trends. Expect appearances from brands and designers such as Club Monaco, Nicole Miller (yup, she pops in every now and then!), Intermix, and Coach. I’ve taken a lot of inspiration from these chats for blog posts, such as how to wear cropped sweaters for fall.
When: Every Wednesday at 3PM EST.

Who: Hosted by @FashionUnfold
What: Thought-provoking debates on blogging and the fashion industry. Past topics include: elitism in fashion, celebrity fashion lines, and the end of fashion blogging (very heated topics!). Expect some disagreement for your opinions, and remember to respond politely and tactfully.
When: Second Tuesday of the month at 1PM EST.

What: I recently discovered this chat yesterday but it looks promising for any serious blogger. Last night’s topics included blog giveaways, gift guides, and sponsored posts.
When: Mondays at 9PM EST.

Who: Hosted by @bbloggerschat
What: A UK-based chat focused on, you guessed it, beauty. Topics are voted on each week on the Bbloggers website. Expect a lot of self-promotion and, possibly, spam in-between helpful advice and blogger-blogger networking.
When: Wednesdays & Sundays at 3PM EST.

Who: Hosted by @BeautyHigh
What: Beauty tips, tricks, and trends hosted by the website, Beauty High. Expect appearances from brands such as MAC, Olie Biologique, Miss Jessie’s, and Maybelline. This is a great chat to demonstrate your beauty cred and network with brands.
When: Fridays at 2PM EST.
