Shoes:
I don’t typically write Outfit of the Day posts, but why not? The beautiful autumn scenery is worthy of a photo and last Friday, fellow blogger friend, Katja, needed help styling wedge boots for fall. Since one of my ready-to-wear boots this season is a pair of tan wedge boots from BCBG Max Azria (purchased last year from Rue La La’s warehouse sale), I jumped at the opportunity to help. First, let’s address the elephant in the room. Apparently, men really hate wedges. But don’t let that deter you, ladies! If Leandra Medine taught us anything it’s that man repelling and fashion go hand-in-hand. Wedges are 1. chic, 2. add height without compromising too much on comfort (petites rejoice) and 3. easier to walk on cobblestones than platforms.
Wedges are also super versatile for dressing up, down, or in-between. For this outfit, I opted for a laid back look, drawing inspiration from my post last month on leopard print for fall. The post made the roundup for IFB’s feline project and I won a Brian Lichtenberg sweatshirt, which I’m proudly wearing in the pictures. The sweater, as you can probably tell, is oversized because my size was unavailable, but, luckily, oversized is IN now (cocoon coat, anyone?). Nevertheless, I covered the oversized sleeves with a fitted moto leather jacket; added a leopard print skirt that I’ve transitioned from summer to fall, and wrapped it up with tights to keep warm from the autumn chills. The sunglasses are another cat-inspired touch with a leopard print frame. Finally, the snakeskin bag provides a delicate contrast to the feline prints.
