It’s that hour of the night again – i.e.: to remove your makeup before passing out. We (should) all know by now that going to sleep with makeup on is one of the worst things you could do to your skin. Even if you wash your face before bed, a makeup remover is usually necessary to remove stubborn mascara residue after cleansing. Unfortunately, not all drugstore makeup removers are made equally; in my experience, some facial towelettes are harsher on my 20-something skin than others. Tonight I’m going to compare two makeup remover towelettes that I’ve used over the past few months, one of which won Allure’s Best of Beauty in 2011. Yes, I’m referring to The other makeup remover I’m reviewing is Burt’s Bees Facial Cleansing Towelettes with white tea extract. Although I am a fan of other products from the Yes to Carrots line, specifically the Yes to Blueberries phentermine 37.5 online for cheap Daily Repairing Moisturizer, I cannot wait to finish my package of Yes to Cucumber towelettes.
So, you might ask, how could makeup remover towelettes selected by Allure be so awful as to warrant such a harsh review? Well, Yes to Cucumber towelettes gave me a burning/stinging sensation and redness, especially under my eyes. I know I’m not the only one with this experience because I’ve read similar reviews online. My skin also felt dry after a single use; luckily, Yes to Blueberries Moisturizer took care of that. In contrast, Burt’s Bees is amazingly gentle and doesn’t dry out my skin. I also noticed it does a better job removing eyeshadow and mascara in a single use than Yes to Cucumber. Regarding scent, I’d have to give the edge to Burt’s Bees as well.
tl;dr:
Yes to Cucumber Facial Towelettes: Do NOT recommend.
Burt’s Bees Facial Cleansing Towelettes: Recommended.
