It’s not often that a label masters the art of evening wear and
It’s this particular eastern influence adapted for the New York woman that has defined Noon by Noor’s signature brand. One of the highlights of the collection is the unconventional use of texture, volume, pattern, and color, creating a vibe that is simultaneously mature and youthful, as well as modern. More importantly, the clothes look strikingly different from every other collection at New York Fashion Week, which speaks to the strength of the brand. Despite being relatively new, Noon by Noor has established itself as the go-to label for cool girls like Coco Rocha and Solange Knowles, both of whom sat front row at the show.
My favorite piece is a mauve faux fur panel cocoon coat (first picture below) that looks warm and comfy enough to withstand New York’s wave of arctic temperatures. The ensemble is accented with yellow pants and a gray sweater; both colors appear thematically throughout the collection along with mauve, burgundy, and royal purple. Another favorite is a masculine-inspired voluminous white coat layered over an embellished purple gown. The many contrasts throughout the show – masculine and feminine, east and west, evening wear and daywear, youthful and mature, cool and luxurious – were expertly and exquisitely balanced for a cohesive collection.
