Sequined pants were buzzing on this week’s #stylechat Twitter session. Many people seemed interested in trying the look, though some were worried about pulling it off without looking like a disco ball. I can relate; hence, this post on how to wear sequin pants in the most effortless, you-can’t-believe-it’s-not-a-Times-Square-ball way. Ever since I stumbled upon a pair of sparkly sequined pants at French Connection, I’ve been a huge proponent of the look. Luckily, bloggers like Leandra of Man Repeller and Kristina of Kayture, in addition to French designer, Isabel Marant, have given us inspiration for how to wear the look for work (yes, work!), a night out, or a casual day. Interested? Let’s get started!
Everyday
Isabel Marant never fails to impress. If you want a casual (sporty?) – but no less chic – way to wear sequin pants, pair them with a striped top, a basic neutral top, or an oversized sweater. This way, the sparkles and shine of the pants are balanced out but not compromised.

Night Out
Kristina of Kayture (featured above) looks flawless in a printed blazer paired with dark sequin pants. For a night out or party, swap the basic tee for a flirty peplum and pair it with floral-printed sequin pants.

Wear to Work
Ok, so depending on your profession, sequin pants may be a little wild for the office. But if you work in a creative, fashion, or communication industry they can fit right in. I love how Leandra paired silver sequin pants with a muted gray top and white blazer for a look that finally makes work wear look cool. I curated a slightly different outfit with black sequin pants, a monochrome plaid button down, and white blazer to tie the outfit together. What do you think? Would you wear sequin pants to work?
