Yellow is one of those colors that people tend to shy away from wearing. After all, you could run the risk of looking like the sun – or worse, like a banana! Yellow has many shades, and we seem to be the most comfortable wearing darker, fall tones like gold and mustard. If not for blogger/Pinterest inspiration, I probably wouldn’t think much about adding bright yellow to my summer wardrobe. Thankfully, there’s enough imagery online to know what works with this bright, bold shade. Here are the following ways you can wear yellow:

With Gold Accents: If youre worried about looking loud and proud in yellow, wear gold. Ironically, the gold tone helps balance yellows brightness, giving it a more sophisticated look.
With floral pants: You can almost never go wrong with florals. How does a lemon button-down paired with accented yellow floral pants and yellow sandals avoid looking too matchy matchy? The answer lies within the floral pants! The floral print balances solid colors and subdues yellows loudness without completely distracting us from it.
As a Maxi Dress: Nothing says young, wild, and free like a bohemian-inspired, pastel yellow maxi dress accented with big jewelry. What I love most about this look is its simplicity; yellow has a way of standing out without needing much else to add.
As a blazer: Its official, along with Olivia Palermo, Miranda Kerr has the best clothes; Im constantly re-pinning their outfits. I credit Miranda Kerr for my workwear inspiration, and this outfit is no exception. The yellow blazer says professional without seeming the least bit uptight or too casual. For the first time, I actually want to wear a blazer.
With leopard: As you may come to realize , Im sort of obsessed with leopard (see my About Me section). Although leopard tends to be associated with fall/winter clothing, the silk fabric of the leopard print blouse, sunny skirt and gold jewelry helps this outfit avoid appearing out of season.
